The OnePlus 7 Pro was one of the best flagships of 2019. In true OnePlus fashion, we will now get a “T” variant with upgraded specifications and other minor refreshes. As per the latest rumors, the launch date has been set for September 26.Historically, OnePlus’ T series flagships have been announced in mid-October. Taking that into consideration, a September-end launch is a little unusual. Moreover, leakster Ishan Agarwal suggests that the OnePlus 7T series will launch in India first, before making its way to other countries in the coming weeks. The keynote will take place in the capital city of New Delhi.

The cheaper variant and the successor to the OnePlus 7 will supposedly be powered by the much-anticipated Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset, which was expected. The base RAM will be 8GB, up from 6GB along with a minimum of 128GB of UFS 3.0 storage.The batteries also said to get a slight bump to 3,800 mAh, and should support 20W fast charging. Other hardware changes include two new colour variants, viz. Frosted Silver and Haze Blue.The OnePlus 7 had a 48MP primary camera along with a 5MP depth sensor. However, the leak mentions that the OnePlus 7T will bring massive upgrades to the camera department by bringing a triple camera setup consisting of a 48MP primary camera, augmented by an ultrawide lens and a telephoto camera. The camera housing will now be circular in shape, and is one of the most evident design changes for this generation. The camera will be able to shoot 960fps slow-motion video, Nightscape, Portrait mode and the much-awaited ultra-wide video recording.The most exciting change on the OnePlus 7T comes with the display, as the leak suggests a new 6.55-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a smaller notch. This is a major step up from the modest 6.4-inch FHD+ panel with a 60Hz refresh rate that we on the OnePlus 7. Unless OnePlus has figured out a way to slim down the bezels, the 7T will have a slightly bigger footprint.
OnePlus 7 ProThese upgrades bring the OnePlus 7T very close to the OnePlus 7 Pro, which could mean an increase in the price. If priced right, the 7T will pose a threat to the Redmi K20 Pro and the upcoming Lenovo Z6 Pro which are both great affordable flagships in India.The leak didn’t mention much about the OnePlus 7T specifications or upgrades, but we expect the Snapdragon 855 Plus to make an appearance, along with a bigger battery and probably improved cameras. OnePlus 7 series were often hailed as the fastest Android devices around, thanks to high-end internals and well-optimized OxygenOS. Free TV- and movie-streaming site Tubi has announced plans to launch its service in Australia, with an initial library of around 7,000 titles set to go live this Sunday, September 1. The release of iOS 12.4 in July came with a number of small fixes and improvements, but alongside these was one thing Apple didn’t intend: the update also inadvertently re-opened a security flaw that made it easier for up-to-date iPhones to be jailbroken.Apple has now put out a new emergency patch – iOS version 12.4.1 – in response to the bug, which also happens to give hackers freer access to the accounts of iPhone users.For some background, a jailbroken iPhone or iPad is one that has been altered in such a way as to allow the user (or third parties) to install apps that haven’t been approved by Apple and without going through the App Store, and to modify the devices in a variety of ways that aren’t typically allowed by the OS.
What is jailbreaking?Apple’s iOS 12.4 and watchOS 5.3 updates fix Walkie Talkie vulnerabilityThe bug was initially found by Ned Williamson working with Google Project Zero, who was thanked in Apple’s release notes for iOS 12.4.1 as having discovered that “a malicious application may be able to execute arbitrary code with system privileges”.Also thanked in the notes is a security researcher who goes by the moniker Pwn20wnd and is responsible for first developing and publishing a working jailbreak for iOS 12.4. Speaking with Motherboard last week, Pwn20wnd stated that “it is very likely that someone is already exploiting this bug for bad purposes”.If you’re a regular, non-jailbreaking user and your device hasn’t been updated to iOS 12.4.1 we’d strongly advise that you do so, as security expert have warned that it’s significantly easier for bad actors to sneak malicious code into apps while a public jailbreak is available.

Intel recently made a huge splash with the release of its Comet Lake processors for laptops and tablets, but that doesn’t mean it’s done. Hong Kong-based website, XFastest, recently shared three leaked slides from an anonymous source showing an Intel Core platform boasting a new Intel 400 series chipset and an LGA 1200 socket. To top that off, these slides also include a roadmap indicating that the 10-core Comet Lake CPUs for desktop computers are slated to roll out in the first quarter of 2020.Based on the slides, this new chipset looks to be designed to support up to 10-core and 20-thread processors. The platform details also suggest that the enthusiast level TDP is seeing a bump of up to 125W from the previous 95W for enhanced core & memory overclocking. According to ExtremeTech, Intel might be trying to avoid cutting the base clock speed as it did when moving from the 8th to 9th generations as well.The updated LGA 1200 socket and Intel 400 series chipset means that you’ll need to buy a new motherboard with these specs if you want to upgrade once the Comet Lake-S processors come out. However, jumping on board with the Comet Lake-S also includes integrated support for 802.11ax, the next generation of wireless support also known as Wi-Fi6.With the potential roll-out of the Comet Lake desktop processors coming the beginning of 2020, there will be plenty more speculation on what to expect.

While we’re still hoping for slimmer CPU’s from Intel to compete with AMD’s 7nm offerings, it has decided to stick with their tried-and-true 14nm process. Of course, we’ll have to wait and see how Comet Lake-S compares to AMD’s newest Ryzen options, which already go up to 16 cores and 32 threads.Intel has always led with its single core performance, and we’re excited to see how Comet Lake-S improves upon its already powerful results. And, while AMD will probably still outperform Intel in the multi-core department, maybe the extra 2 cores and increased TDP will close the gap.The true test for most people will be price. There’s no information on that yet, Intel might try and shake up AMD’s top-flight offerings. Whatever the prices end up being, we’ll keep you up to date on Comet Lake-S news.

When you lay your eyes on the HP Spectre 13 for the first time, you might be blinded by its sheer beauty. HP has taken the already-beautiful Spectre, and spruced it up with gold trim and packed it with internal specs that blow the competition out of the water. One of the first Ultrabooks packing a quad-core CPU, the 2017 Spectre 13 more than doubles the CPU performance of most of its competitors. Rarely does a company think of everything when designing a laptop, but for what it’s worth, the HP Spectre x360 comes surprisingly close. It’s a 2-in-1 convertible laptop, which by default makes it not for everyone.
